Anyone in England, Scotland and Wales. Unfortunately we don't cover Northern Ireland

• What does the uSwitch energy app do?

The app helps you compare power rates to find the best electricity and gas deals. It uses uSwitch’s own comparison tool (www.uswitch.com) to check gas prices and find the best gas and electricity deals

• What’s the difference between the uSwitch App and Voltz, or the Moneysupermarket Go app?

uSwitch’s app uses bill scanning technology to give instant and bespoke results. We compare the whole market and help you switch to the best energy plan for you. You can then track your switch giving you peace of mind throughout the whole process

• How do I scan my bill’s QR code with this app?

It’s easy — simply follow the prompts the first time you use the app to scan your bill’s code.

If you already have a uSwitch account and your energy details have been automatically pulled in, tap your current plan info and select “Update my details” to access the QR code reader

• Do I need a uSwitch account to use the app?

No. You can use it without creating an account

• Which suppliers can I switch to with the uSwitch app?

You can switch to British Gas, E.ON, EDF Energy, ScottishPower, SSE and npower. You can also switch to a dozen small suppliers including award-winning energy supplier OVO Energy, and the largest independent supplier in the UK, First Utility. We can switch you to Bristol Energy, Bulb, Co-operative, Flow Energy, Good Energy, Green Star Energy, iSupply, LoC02, M&S Energy, Octopus Energy, Robin Hood Energy, Sainsbury's Energy and Spark Energy

• Can I use the app if I don’t know my energy details?

Yes. If don’t have your gas and electricity details available, just answer a few questions about your energy use. It’s best to use your actual consumption, so track down a bill if you can

• Can I compare other products uSwitch compares (i.e., broadband, TV, car insurance, mobiles, credit cards, mortgages, home insurance)?

Not yet. Currently, the uSwitch app will only check gas prices and electricity prices for domestic households with standard meters, economy 7 meters and smart meters
